Life and Research in Salt Lake City by Peter Salz2012

My name is Peter Salz, I am a third year Ph.D. student in the Computer Graphics group of Prof. Hans Hagen. During my Computer Science studies in Kaiserslautern from 2005 to 2011, I majored in Computer Graphics and Visualization. After working on 3D visualization of time-dynamic biological data and object tracking in low-quality images, my new research topic of interest, Visual Computing in Medicine, brought me to the International Research Training Group (IRTG) for Visualization of Large and Unstructured Data Sets.

Been there, done that by Kathrin Häb2011

It was end of September 2011, when I got an E-Mail from Prof. Dr. Hans Hagen, to whom I applied three months before. “I will see if I can do something for you”, he said as he received my application, “we are always happy to find motivated graduates”. Since I did not hear from him for quite a while, I accepted a job as a teacher and adopted two classes in a school here in Kaiserslautern. Happily sharing my knowledge in German and Geography with the 6th and 7th grade, I really enjoyed my work there and felt established.
